BANZAI!

WINGS   9   BRUINS   5

Run and gun in this contest!  The high octane Wings fill up the score sheet!  Deuces wild for Rob Rowling, Ryan Boyette and Mike Nalepa(Also 4 Helpers).  Steve “Mario” Lemieux, “Midtown” Mikey Brown and sub Dave “Beachboy” Wilson round out the Wings carnage.   Bruins center John Cornish with a two goal game.  Singles for Brian Reath, John McNeilly and Craig Bastuba.

FLYERS   7    HAWKS   4

The sub laden Flyers(5 Subs) score early and often!  Sub Steve Bayagich scores his first of FIVE goals 29 ticks into the game!  Fellow sub Greg Calvin with a two goal game. Forward Marty Papesh with two goals for the Hawks.  Singles for Steve Wink and Donnie Riviera.  No trips to the sin bin for either squad.

SHARKS  1    HABS   1

Both teams score shorthanded in this very entertaining contest.  Habs defenseman Pierre Dugas with a blast from the right point for the games first goal.  “Downtown” Jimmy Brown with a beautiful inside outside solo effort with the Sharks marker.  Sharks puck stopper Billy Schaugg reverted back to his teen years in St. Clair Shores, as he was simply outstanding in nets!  Habs winger Dougie Roehl picks up a solo four minute roughing infraction.

BRUINS   3     HAWKS   1

The Bruins keep the Hawks winless in this young season.  Hawks up 1-0 after the initial period, only to see the Bruins roar back with three final period unanswered goals!  John McNeilly, Craig Bastuba and “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio dent the twine for the men in yellow.  As in game one – Steve Wink scores for the Hawks.  The Hawks “Scowling” Scott Leslie and the Bruins “Old Man” Jack Priauix  get into a “How Do You Do” and hit the box in tandem with roughing minor penalties.  Following the game, a Bruins player stated: “Everyone circles the Hawks game on their schedule – knowing it’s a guaranteed win!”  Ouch!

FLYERS   4    HABS   4

Flyers up 3-1 late in the game and seemingly in complete control.  Then the top spot Habs split up Dr. Nate and Bryan Prentice and promptly take a 4-3 lead in a four minute span, as each player scores twice.  The center’s just needed their own space on the ice!  Face-off in the Habs zone with the curfew clock winding down to single digits.  The Flyers cleanly win the face-off back to the left defenseman, who quickly passes over to the right D – Danny Rea.  Rea walks in and fires a low shot on net.  Steve Bittner chips in the ensuing tying rebound goal as the buzzer sounds, as goaltender Dar heaves his goalie stick into the far corner!  Nice comeback for both teams in this game!

SHARKS   7   WINGS   5

If you want to defeat the Wings – you better score goals!  That’s exactly what the Sharks did!  “Mr. Downtown” Jimmy Brown with a huge four goal game!  Billy Mac Jr. with a six point game – 3 & 3!  Mr. Rob Rowling with a four goal game for the Wings.  Ryan Boyette pitched in with a single.
