WEEK TWO – PLAYOFFS

SHARKS   6     WINGS   1

Sharks jump out to a 4-0 first period lead and coast to the W.  Deuces wild for Ben Haynes and sub Gary Szylanski.  Singles for Eddie Higgins and Al “Mike” Phipps.  One of my favorite players – if your on his team – Peter Gibb with the lone Wings marker in this penalty free game.

FLYERS   3     BRUINS   1

Robert E. Lee breaks a 1-1 final period tie with two goals for the Flyers.  Sub Lawson with the Flyers first marker.  Flyers sub goaler Rick ‘Ticker” Chauvin was outstanding in nets.  Sub Stevie Lambert was the only Bruin to solve “Ticker”.

HABS   3    HAWKS   2

John “Hal” McRae snaps a 2-2 tie with just over a minute left in the game, to send the Habs to a rousing victory for the Hawks!  Jeff Ivory with the Habs first two markers.  Mike Ala and Pat Collins tally for the Hawks.

HAWKS   5    FLYERS   1

The Hawks right the ship behind the natural hat trick efforts of Al Pyc!  Sub “Freddy” Lynn with the deuce.  Flyers sub “Scowling” Scott Leslie with a low far side goal.

BRUINS   3    SHARKS   2

Adam Godard breaks a 2-2 tie with just over two minutes left in the contest to salvage a split today for the Bruins.  Jimmy George and sub “Magnum” Higgins with singles.  Ben Haynes and Al Phipps with the Sharks goals.

HABS   3    WINGS   3

Sniper Ronnie Meltsner scores a shorthanded goal with a minute left in the game to tie it up for the Wings!  The Bills – Hagen and sub Fay with first period goals for the Wings.  How hot is hot?  Mr. Jeff Ivory with only a single goal this game and now totals 9 goals in 4 playoff games!  The guy’s on fire!  Don Courtley and John McRae also tally for the Frenchmen.
