THE SECOND PLACE HABS ARE 4 POINTS UP FROM THE THREE TEAMS TIED FOR THIRD.
HABS 3 HAWKS 0
Three first period goals in the games first ten minutes cement the victory for the Frenchmen. Captain Kenny “Primetime” Wilkins scoring on the games second shift for the game winning goal. Mike Lawson follows that up, scoring just 33 seconds later and John Perini with the Habs final tally. Sir Kevin Beebe with the whitewash. Sir Kevin’s game has really picked up after he purchased the “Tim Cheveldale School of Goaltending” DVD two weeks ago. No Hawks highlights in this penalty free game.
FLYERS 3 BRUINS 1
Mike Ala scores two minutes into the game as the Flyers jump out to a 3 zip lead and hold on for the W. Pat Collins and sub “Mike” Phipps also score for the Flyers. Goaltender Mike Mostyn with an excellent game between the pipes. Bruins sub “Scowling” Scott Leslie with their lone goal. Bob “Bugsy” Watson was not suited up for the Bruins in today’s games. Could the trade deadline have something to do with this? No trips to the sin bin for either squad.
SHARKS 7 WINGS 1
The Sharks have a feeding frenzy against the underwater Wings. Steve “Barney Miller” Dietrich with the trick for the Sharks. Sub Paulie “Knuckles” Pollizi with the deuce. Singles for Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins and Ben Haynes. Back from his wall construction efforts at the Texas/Mexico border – Kevin Mahon with his first career five assist game! Nice game Kevin! Sub goaler Brian Miller with a relatively easy workload. Stevie Lambert with the lone Wings goal. What’s up with this? All of the first games today were Lady Byng penalty free!
SHARKS 4 BRUINS 4
The Bruins tie their third game of the playoffs in the four playoff games played. Adam Godard with a two goal game for the Bruins. Singles for Al Sparks and sub Steve Lemieux. Fellow sub Scott Leslie with three helpers. As in game one – scoring for the Sharks – Ben Haynes(2), Eddie Higgins and sub Paulie Polizzi. Kevin Mahon with a couple of helpers to total 7 assists on the night!
HABS 3 WINGS 2
The Habs sweep for the day – as the Wings descend for the day! Kenny Wilkins, Jeff “Dick” Tracy and Chris Zanke do the honors for the Frenchmen. Marty Sell and Grand Rapids call up Vigi tally for the Wings. Both goalies – Sir Kevin Beebe and Mike Schlimgen with solid efforts in nets.
FLYERS 7 HAWKS 1
The top spot Flyers put a hurting on the Hawks. Pat Collins with the trick! Bruce “Cooler Man” Gooel with the deuce. Singles for John Zuccarini and Dr. Keri Topouzian. Scoring leader Mike Ala with the hat trick assist. Goaltender Mike Mostyn with a 7 save game. David Wargo scores the Hawks only goal in today’s doubleheader, as the Hawks drop a deuce.
