22 SUBS TODAY!!

WINGS   4    HABS   3

The top spot Wings pull out a close W!  Grand Rapids call up Gary Szylanski with a two goal game.  Singles for Al Sparks and sub “Bobby” Mercer.  Defenseman Tommy Oswald with three helpers.  Robert Stempian scores twice for the Habs.  Moncton call up Matt Lawson with their middle marker.  Brian Belloli with the hat trick assist in this penalty free game.

BRUINS    4     FLYERS   1

The Bruins score twice in each period as they defeat the Flyers.  Dave Debrincat, Rob Halbhuber, Doug Wargo and sub Velazquez do the honors for the Bruins.  Defenseman Al Phipps with the Flyers lone goal.  The Flyers missed several wide open nets as they were under the eight ball before the game even started.  Knowingly they were down to nine players, due to one of their top players with an afternoon call and a sub could not be secured.  Then their top sub shows up after the first period, as they played with eight players in period one.  The final result was a predictable loss!

SHARKS   2     HAWKS   2

A well played game as the score indicates, as both goalies – Mike Schlimgen of the Sharks and Paul Kaczmarek of the Hawks put on a butterfly style goal tending clinic!  Bruce Buntin and sub Paul Vioalssi score for the Hawks.  Sub Mike Garlick and Doug “Jeff” Beck tally for the Fish.

BRUINS   5    WINGS   3

Da Bruins sweep on the day as they upend the talented Wings!  Really taking a liking to this left wing stuff, former defenseman Dave Bebrincat with the deuce!  Doug Wargo also with a two goal game.  Rob “Hurricane” Halbhuber with their final goal.  Puck stopper “Ticker” with an excellent game between the pipes!  Wings sub “Bobby” Mercer with a two goal game.  Keith Foucher with a top shelf single.

FLYERS   8    HAWKS   5

This was a wild one!  The newly formed line of Steve Lemieux(2 & 2), and subs Lance Kos(2 & 3) and Larry “School Boy” Rowe(4 Helpers) total 13 points in the game!  Both of “The Equalizer” Lemieux’s goals came 20 seconds after a Hawks goal, to deflate the Hawks each time!  Curt Lesnau and playing the best game of his long career, defenseman Paulie “Knuckles” Polizzi with a goal and three assists!  The guy was everywhere playing with three D!  Hawks sub Paul Vioalssi and center Billy Hagen with the deuce.  Billy’s first goal was a beautiful power play tip on a great pass from right D Keith Lutz.  Fellow center Robbie Porter also with a goal.  Left defenseman Kenny Perko with three helpers.

SHARKS   5    HABS   2

Sub Mike Garlick records the trick for the Sharks!  Fellow sub and line-mate Scott Leslie with the deuce.  Both players felt really comfortable in a Sharks jersey, as they play for the Sharks on Thursday in the “A” League – Lol!  Their other line-mate Bruce Gooel with a three assist game, as the line totals ten points in the game!  Mike Ala and sub John Siterlet score for the Frenchmen as they drop two today.

Everyone knows that HOF center Alex Delvecchio wore number 10.
As a rookie in 1955 he wore a different number.
What was it?
