WELCOME BACK BOYS!

SHARKS    5    WINGS   2

Da Sharks go up 4-1 entering the final stanza and record the victory behind the strong goaltending efforts of Kenny Lipschutz.  Ronnie Meltsner with a two goal game.  Singles for Chris Zanke, Steve Dietrich and sub Gary Szalanski.  Al Pyc and Mark Smyth tally for the Wings.

FLYERS   7     HABS   1

Deuces wild for Ryan O’Rourke and sub Jeff “Dick” Tracy as the Flyers destroy the Habs.  Singles for the Rob’s – Lee and Porter and sub Lawson.  Brian Gross of the Habs wrecks Flyers sub goalie Rick Chauvin’s shutout, scoring with just under two minutes left in the game!  No penalties in the game.

BRUINS   5     HAWKS   5

Both teams alternate scoring as Adam Godard(Also 3 Helpers) of the Bruins ties the game up with just over a minute left in the contest.  Steve Lemieux and sub Debus both with two goal games for the Bruins.  Right winger Curt Bailey with the deuce for the Hawks.  Singles for Billy Hagen, Rob Halbhuber and sub Bobby Watson.  Seconds before Watson scores, we are sitting on the bench and he is telling me that you have to shoot low on Bruins goalie Bobby Rutkoske to beat him.  So what does Watson do?  Barrels down the left wing and goes top shelf water bottle with a wicked slap-shot!  Low eh?  No trips to the sin bin for either squad.

HAWKS   7    WINGS   5

The Hawks leapfrog the Wings out of the basement!  Curt Lesnau with the hat trick.  Singles for the other Curt – Bailey, Billy Hagen, Rob Halbhuber and Barry Piornack.  Sub Bob “Bugsy” Watson with a four helper game.  James George scores twice for the Wings.  Paulie “Jay” Giles, Al Pyc and on an absolute top shelf blast from the point – left defenseman Keith Lutz also with Wings markers.  I don’t know if it was an aberration or not – but I thought I saw JP of the Wings playing left defense today?  Whoa!  Wings sub Paul Kaczmarek was issued a hooking penalty that the Hawks scored on while play continued and went absolutely berserk toward the referee!  He dropped more F- Bombs than Andre Dice Clay and was asked to leave the game and hit the locker room.  Really – what did the penalty matter anyway?  The Hawks scored.

FLYERS   4    SHARKS   2

This well balanced first place Flyers team sweeps for the day.  The General – Robert E. Lee with the deuce.  Ryan O’Rourke and scoring his first goal of the year – Pete Gibb round out the Flyers scoring.  Sub goaler Rick Chauvin with a strong effort in nets.  Detroit native Glenn Pareskevin and sub Dougie Roehl score for the Sharks.

HABS   3    BRUINS   2

The Frenchmen recover from their game one shellacking and play a strong game to defeat the Bruins.  Cam “Steamboat” Lawrence scores the game winning power play goal with just over a minute left in the contest.  That was Cam’s second tally of the game.  Kenny Wilkins with the Habs middle marker.  Jim Chapie and sub Debus with the Bruins goals.  Randy Debuel of the Bruins and John “The Little Ball of Hate” Perini takes turns chopping each other and hit the box in tandem.
