FLYERS   3    HAWKS   3

Definitely a surprise here – as the bottom dweller Hawks surprise the top spot high flying Flyers!  Kudos to Hawks puck stopper “Sugar” John Marchin who was outstanding in nets!  Scoring machine Jimmy George with the deuce for the Hawks.  Rob “The Rifleman” Duncan scores 46 ticks into the game for the Hawks.  Tommy Trice, Jeff “Dick” Tracy and Ronnie Meltsner tally for the men in orange.

WINGS   2   BRUINS   1

Marty Sell scores both Wings markers and sub net-minder Kirk Larson shines in nets for the Wings.  Adam Godard with the lone Bruins goals in this penalty free game.  Bruins goalie Bobby Rutkoske also with a very strong game in nets.

HABS   4    SHARKS   2

Moncton call up “Magnum” Higgins with the tour du chapeau for the Frenchmen.  Sniper Mike Ala also with a goal and three helpers.  Steve “Barney Miller” Dietrich and John Perini tally for the Fish.  Absolutely no strangers to the penalty box – Peter Gibb(A 5 Minute Slashing Major) and Chris Zanke get into it on the games second shift.  Zanke followed that up with, two more final period penalties – one for unsportsmanlike conduct and an early shower.

WINGS    2   SHARKS   1

Wings win both games by close identical scores today, as it appears sub goalie Kirk “Captain America” has “Passed the Audition!”  Pat Collins and sub Bob “Bugsy” Watson score for the Wings, who are now undefeated in their past seven contests.  Once again – John Perini scores for the Sharks.  Sharks net-minder Brian Miller receives a delay of game penalty.

FLYERS   4     HABS   4

Another tie for the power house Flyers, as they have only ONE loss on the season with just two games remanning before the playoffs!  23 consecutive games without a loss!  Gotta be a Sting record in my book!  Sub “Magnum” Higgins with the deuce and five goals on the night for the Habs.  Singles for fellow sub Danny Shannon and “Gentleman” Don Courtley.  Mike Ala with another three assist game.  Providence call up Paulie “Knuckles” Polizzi scores his second goal of the game late in the final period for the Flyers.  Singles for the leagues leading scorer John Zuccarini and Ronnie Meltsner.

BRUINS  6     HAWKS   0

The air came out of the Hawks after they played such an inspirational game one, only to get pounded by the Bruins in this game.  16 consecutive games without a victory for the beleaguered Hawks.  Deuce’s wild for John “Hal” McRae and sub Dougie Roehl.  Singles for Adam Godard and sub Al “Mike” Phipps.  Bobby Rutkoske with the seven save whitewash.  No Hawks highlights.  Following the game in the locker room, Hawks winger Dave “Buckeye” Wahl predicted “Watch out for us in the playoffs!”  Really?  You gotta love optimism!
