FLYERS   2    HAWKS   1

A nip and tuck game between the second and third place teams.  Fraser High School alumnus Kenny Lipschuz was excellent in nets subbing for the Flyers!  Likewise for Hawks goalie Brian Miller.  Mike Ala and Sal Bonanno tally for the Flyers.  Billy Hagen with the lone Hawks marker.

BRUINS   3     WINGS   0

Rick “Ticker” Chauvin is now only 200 shutout games behind the famed Superman!  Ticker with a stellar game in nets!  Bobby Watson, Curt Bailey and recording his 30th goal of the season – Steve “Mario” Lemieux score for the Bruins.  No Wings highlights.

SHARKS   2     HABS   2

A very well played game as the score indicates.  Ben Haynes and Gary Szalanski were the Sharks marksman.  Al Pyc and Stevie Lambert tally for the Frenchmen.

BRUINS    4    HAWKS   1

The Bruins continue their dominance over the Hawks behind the two goal game of Bob Watson.  Singles for Curt Bailey and Rob Halbhuber.  “Ticker” with another excellent game between the pipes for the Bruins.  The swift Mark Smyth with the Hawks goal as they drop a deuce today.

WINGS   3    SHARKS   1

The Wings topple the Sharks and make it very interesting standings wise.  The Wings, Sharks and Habs are all tied for either fourth, fifth or sixth place – depending on your point of view.  Robbie Porter, Jeff Tracey and Chuck Mouraine with the Wings goals.  “Sugar” John Marchin with a very good game in nets!  Steve Dietrich with the lone Shark goal.

HABS   5    FLYERS   4

The Habs rock and roll and upend the second place Flyers!  A very strong game for the Frenchmen!  David Debrincat with the deuce.  Singles for Jimmy George, Stevie Lambert and Kenny Wilkins.  Center Sal Bonanno scores twice for the Flyers.  “Gentleman” Don Courtley and Bruce Buntin with singles.  The Habs Dave Herkowitz picks up a solo unsportsmanlike conduct minor penalty, then as he’s leaving the box, he picks up another one!  Then Dave comes out of the box again and 13 seconds later picks up a tripping minor penalty!  Bye bye Dave as he exit’s the game halfway through the first period!  Maybe he had somewhere to go?

Rod Brind’Amour of Carolina just won the Jack Adams award(Coach of the Year).

He is only the third person to win a Stanley Cup as a player and the Jack Adams award with the same team.

Who are the other two?

Billy Barber with the Flyers and Patrick Roy with the Avalanche.
