Mike Ala leads the first half Sam Cupp champions with a two goal game.  Singles for Mark Smyth, Terry Massserant and sub Paulie “Knuckles” Polizzi.  Top notch goaltender Bobby Rutkoske one again was stellar in nets!  Marty Sell was the only Shark to solve Mr. Rutkoske.  Ben Haynes of the Sharks was a little unruly this game, as he picks up a minor unsportsmanlike penalty and a ten minute misconduct – abuse of officials penalty, which ends his game prematurely.

BRUINS   5   FLYERS   2

2-2 entering the final stanza – then the men in yellow rattle off three unanswered goals!  Chuck Mournaine, Doug Margo, Jimmy George, punk grunge guitarist Keith Lutz and sub Altherr all find the back of the net for the Bruins.  John Zuccarini and sub Steve Lemieux tally for the Flyers in this penalty free game.

HABS   3    WINGS   2

Smooth skating Jeff Ivory buries his second goal of the game with just over three minutes left in the contest for the game winner.  The other Jeff –  Tracy with the Habs initial tally.  Peter Gibb and “Scowling” Scott Leslie with the Wings markers.  Both puck stoppers – Sir Kevin Beebe of the victorious Habs and Mike Schlimgen of the Wings with solid games in nets.

HAWKS   6    FLYERS   2

The top spot Hawks put an exclamation point on the end of the first half!  Recording his first two goal game since playing outdoors – Terry Masserant leads the Hawks.  Singles for Mike Ala, Captain Pat Collins, Paulie Polizzi and the ever present sub – Kevin Mahon.  Jimmy “Boog” Powell and sub Steve Lemieux with the Flyers markers.

BRUINS   2    WINGS   2

Bruins scramble back from a 2-0 final period deficit to tie the game up in the last four minutes!  Adam Godard and Chuck Mouraine with final period Bruins goals.  Paulie “Jay” Giles and Al Platt with the Wings goals.  Bruins sub goalie Rick “Ticker” Chauvin and Wings goalie Mike Schlimgen with excellent games between the pipes.  Doug Wargo of the Bruins picks up a solo unsportsmanlike minor penalty.

HABS   3     SHARKS   3

Both teams score once in the final period for the tie.  Kenny Wilkins, Cam Lawrence and Italian sub Churilla score for the Frenchmen.  Fish – Mary Sell(2) and forgetting his jersey today – wearing a different number – Steve Dietrich.
