GOALS AGAINST – MIKE MOSTYN – 1.95

SHUTOUTS – MIKE MOSTYN – 5

SHARKS   5   HAWKS   2

The Sharks prevail in a non-consequential game behind the two goal effort of Jimmy “Boog” Powell.  Ben Haynes, Kevin Mahon and sub “Magnum” Higgins with singles.  The Hawks Jimmy George scores his first of two goals only 49 ticks into the game.  Parker “You Can Call Me” Johnson and Mark Nuss both get into the Thanksgiving spirit with slashing minors.

FLYERS   2   BRUINS   0

The Flyers clinch the top spot in the first half standings with this victory behind the stalwart puck stopping of sub Rick “Ticker” Chauvin.  Subbing today for Mike Mostyn, who boasts the top goals against and most shutouts with five, Chauvin just picks up where Mostyn left off – with the whitewash!  The leagues leading goal scorer, Mike Ala with both Flyers goals.  No Bruins highlights.

HABS   5     WINGS   3

The Frenchmen play the spoiler and with the Flyers win in game one – knock the Wings out of first place contention.  Habs go up 3 zip after one period and hang on for the W.  Smooth skating Steve Orr with the French deuce.  Singles for Mike Lawson, John Perini and Jim “Jacques” Lemire.  Cam “Steamboat” Lawrence, Rob “The Rifleman” Duncan and Stevie Lambert tally for the Wings in this penalty free contest.

FLYERS   6    HAWKS   4

This is a very good Flyers team, as they put the exclamation point on the final game of the first half.  Deuces wild for points and assist leader Pat Collins and John Zuccarini.  Mike Ala and the cerebral Gary Enmark(Also 3 Helpers) also with goals.  Goalie “Sugar” John Marchin ended his prolonged hold out and returned in nets for the Hawks.  Hawks – Brian Belloli(2), Mark Smyth and Jimmy George who also had three helpers.

BRUINS   6    WINGS   0

It’s hard to believe – but this shutout was the first of the season for very capable Bruins net-minder Bobby Rutkoske!  Adam Godard with a two goal game.  Singles for Rick Batchelder, “Motor City” Eddie Kowalczyk, Bob “Bugsy” Watson and sub Steve “Mario” Lemieux who also had three assists.  Al Sparks with a four helper game.  The Wings started the season in strong fashion, then have folded like a cheap tent as they remain winless in their last five games!  No trips to the sin bin for either squad.

SHARKS   4   HABS   3

A nip and tuck contest as the Sharks sweep for the day.  Sharks sub “Magnum” Higgins scores his first of two goals just 15 ticks into the contest!  Jimmy Powell and previously exiled and current penalty minute leader Kevin Mahon with singles.  Jeff “Dick” Tracy tommy guns in two goals for the Habs.  Kenny “Primetime” Wilkins with the Habs first marker.
