Steve “Mario” Lemieux scores his first of three goals ten seconds into the game and the Flyers score all their goals in the first period as the rout was on! Ryan O’Rourke with a two goal game and singles for Sam Bonanno and sub Boice. Billy Hagen scores twice for the Hawks and Robbie Porter with their initial goal.
BRUINS 6 WINGS 1
1-1 entering the final stanza, then the Bruins pour in five goals! Deuces wild for Bobby Watson and Ronnie Meltsner. Joe Plati and Dave Debrincat also score. David Herkowitz with the lone Wings marker.
SHARKS 3 HABS 0
Mike Schlimgen and Da Sharks spin the whitewash! Steve Dietrich, Bo Altherr and Bob Lee do the honors for the Sharks in this penalty free game. No Habs highlights.
FLYERS 8 HABS 0
After starting the season with six consecutive away games, the Flyers enjoy some “Home Cooking” today, with the very convincing sweep, scoring 15 goals on the day and still undefeated on the season! Stevie Lambert with the trick. Sammy “Bananas” Bonanno with the deuce. Singles for Ryan O’Rurke, Paulie Polizzi and Steve Lemieux, who also recored a career high four assist game. Tough day for the Frenchmen as they get blanked again. This was a penalty free game.
BRUINS 4 HAWKS 1
The Bruins are now undefeated in their past two doubleheaders. Once again sniper Ronnie Meltsner with a two goal game. Singles for Mike Dawson and Rob Halbhuber. Sub goal-keep Rick “Ticker” Chauvin was stellar in nets today, as he shined with a 1.00 goals against. Jeff Tracy scores for the Hawks who remain winless on the season.
SHARKS 4 WINGS 4
An up and down game and the end result is a tie. General Robert E. Lee scores twice for the Fish. Steve Dietrich and sub Scott Leslie with singles. Wings – Keith Foucher, Ken “Debus” Debus, Chuck Mouraine and scoring machine David Herkowitz. No trips to the sin bin for either squad.
