WEEK THREE – PLAYOFFS

SHARKS   3     HAWKS   0

Picking up right where he left off in the Michigan Senior Olympics last week, Sharks goal-keep Brian Miller blanks the Hawks!  Steve “Barney Miller” Dietrich with the deuce.  Todd Schurman with the Sharks final goal.  There were no Hawks sightings in this penalty free game.

FLYERS   5    HABS   3

Playing a great game – the speedy Jimmy George goes twine twice for the Flyers.  Singles for Pat Berry and subs Billy Hagen and Mike Garlick.  Tom Hines, Kenny Wilkins and sub John Higgins score for the Habs in another penalty free game.

BRUINS   1    WINGS   1

Anytime these two teams play – load up on the under at Points Bet!  The game will either be scoreless, or 1-1 as it was this game, or 2-1.  Winger Mike Harke slams in a rebound 22 ticks into the game and it was definitely looking like that lead would hold up with the spectacular goaltending of Dave Gaskey!  Steve Lemieux blasts a slap shot that finds the back of the net midway in the final period.  Bruins goalie Mike Schlimgen also with an outstanding game in nets!

BRUINS   3     HABS   1

Habs go up 1-0 on a breakaway goal by sub John Higgins with just 24 seconds left in the first period!  Higgins is money on breakaways – this guy always converts!  The Bruins respond with three goals in a six minute final period span for the victory.  Jeff Tracy gets the Bruins on the board, followed by Steve Lemieux’s two goals.  Another strong game by the Bruins Mike Schlimgen in nets.  Another three point effort by the first place undefeated Bruins, which seemingly is a commonl occurrence for them.

WINGS   3     HAWKS   2

Oh boy!  The Hawks gift the Wings a victory this game!  Needing a win and no stinking tie, the Hawks lift their goalie in a 2-2 game!  Wings power forward Doug “Jeff” Beck has the puck in the neutral zone and just happens to look up with ten seconds left in the game and is surprised by the yawning empty net, as he buries it for the W!  Paul “Jay” Giles and Bob “Bugsy” Watson with the Wings first two goals.  Sammy “The Bull” Bonanno and Brian Belloli with the Hawks markers as they remain winless in the playoffs.  The Wings Paul Giles picks up a solo roughing minor penalty.

SHARKS   5     FLYERS   3

The second place Sharks sweep on the day as sub John Siedlik scores twice.  His second goal was a shorthanded empty netter.  Singles for Steve Dietrich, Todd Schurman and “Black” Jack Priauix.  Pat “Crazy Legs” Berry, Jimmy George and NFL Network anchor Will Selva lookalike(See Picture Below) Kevin Maguire tally for the injury plagued Flyers.
